Varsity Fashion

So I decided to go to Varsity just to peek on campus fashion. I was actually amazed at how the campus fashion has transformed. I definitely loved what I saw. Here is some few of my favorite photos. Please forgive me for  bad quality photos)
The denim dungaree paired with an All Star and adding a bit of a bling -a classic look of all times.

Black skater skirt and a white shirt, adding a personal touch of a bow tie. A definitely job well done.

An A line dress with boots also a nice girl look

So what do you think?
Do you like what you see? Remember everyday is a fashion show and streets are your runway

Design Indaba Expo

This is one event I love and  always look forward to annually. Seemingly this year I am missing it, the one year I want to attend it so much . Let me explain Designer Indaba for those who don't know it. It is an annual design event held in CTICC ( Cape Town International Conference Centre). It's start from a Monday to a Sunday with local designers showcasing their work. This includes architects, curators & maestros. I for one am looking forward to see Khosi Nkosi, Doreen Southwood &  Laduma Ngxokolo's work. Hopefully they are showcasing their work in this year's event. Their names are not in the lineup list but I'm hopeful anyway -atleast Thula Sindi's name is there .  Laduma Ngxokolo is a man knitwear designer. I love his work. Please take time & read about  him. Doreen Southwood is a women's clothing designer, I'm sure most people are familiar with her work . She is the founder and owner of MeMeMe retail outlets. Same thing with Khosi Nkosi who her beautiful collection is sold at YDE stores nationwide. So if you are in Cape Town next weekend be sure to pop in at Design Indaba Expo you will not regret it. Let's support our local designers.

Enjoying last of Summer days

The past weekend was a reminder that we are still in the silly Summer. The weather was perfect. It was a beautiful hot weekend even the temperature peaked at 40 degrees celsius. I'm one of those people who are not bothered by heat, so to me its a "bring it on ". To make most of such a lovely day my people  decided   to go for sundowners at the beach. Nice thing about our Summer is that the sun is still up at 6 o'clock. Even though we left at 6:30 we still got there in time to watch the sunset.  I wore my brown Lu by Lolita shorts paired  with a denim shirts and an Urban cream hat.
We got there as the sun was setting. It was such a lovely evening, you could feel the sea cooling off the warm breeze that was still there. Each time a hot breeze passed a cool breeze would follow. Had our drinks & then we went down to the beach. We had an amazing time. Perfect time to go to the beach on such a hot day.

We just sat there and gazed at the beach-talking about priceless moments. Nice thing about Blouberg is that, it offers beautiful views of Cape Town like Table Mountain. I also love to watch surfers while they are busy surfing and you are more likely to find them in that side of the city.

Slouchy wide leg pants

Currently making waves in the catwalks. It's a definite yay for me, seemingly they are going to stick around for a very long time. I first owned a slouchy pants back in 2006. It  was a lovely grey silk pant which I used to pair with a gold tank top & high heels. It was then that I fell in love with slouchy pants. If there is any reason for me to buy slouchy pants it's simply because they are comfortable and they are just to gorgeous to pass.  Most people who are used to tight pants can find them intimidating- understandably so as we have be come accustomed to tight fitting clothes  & equating them to femininity. How you wear your slouchy pants will depend on your silhouette. They can be very difficult to pull off more especially pleated ones but once one get it right it looks effortless. You can pair your pants with tight fitting shirt/blouse, crop top or t-shirt. Wearing them with blazers also yields a nice ensemble. I peeped in some stores & on the runways, please take a look at photos below. Would you wear one or have you tried one? What's your take on them?

Metallic Fashion

They have been trending for a while. One thing I love about metallics when they are worn properly they give a sophisticated look. I have been crushing on them for a while. It's crazy because when metallics came out I was never a  fan. I'm glad I have given in and finally came to my senses.  Currently I don't own any piece of metallic clothing but I'm planning to own one very soon. I'm actually angry at myself for not embracing such beauty from the get go. I need  metallic leggings, metallic bomber jacket or a metallic sneaker-Nike to be precise. I want to go big, shinny and sparkle. I have been  shopping around for them  & thanks to a friend who told me about Milq& Honey clothing range.  Milq & Honey is a store  based in Cape Town owned by two sisters. I fell in love with their metallic range.  It's beautiful. So I have decided that next item in my shopping cart is anything metallic. I deserve one.

Drinks with friends

I love all things beautiful. I love time to chill and I love time to play. Yesterday  I met friends for a brunch in a beautiful cozy Durbanville wine estate.  The venue offered spectacular views of the Cape's wineland. The weather was perfect, great for wine tasting, great for picnic and great for those who wanted to chill in the restaurant for lunch. Having no idea what to wear I decide to wear an a line dress, with a flat shoe. Idea was to feel all girly and be comfortable. I complimented my dress with a shaped Hermes black bag. As a wise lady said "spend life with who makes you happy not who you have to impress". Indeed I had an amazing time with the ladies. A great way of ending my Saturday. I managed to take couple of photos.

Fashionista of the day

Fashionista of the day is Nolita from Joburg, South Africa- who happens to be a good friend of mine. When she invited me over for a drink I knew she would blow me away with whatever she is wearing. She never disappoints, she is always on point. She is a born stunner, a true fashionista. She knows her clothes very well. I admired her in her beautiful custom made dress, she carried it with such elegancy. She wore a Steve Madden gold spike platform and a Moschino belt.

February: A month of love

Inspiration Ensemble
Not only this month  is the only month with less than 30 days, its also the only month where love is celebrated. As grown as I am, Valentine's day still excites me. There I have said it with out any shame, I love it and I am a die hard fan. I love the extra effort our boyfriends, fathers, brothers & husbands put.  I am a sucker for love and everything that comes with it. This year I'm planning to make it a memorable one. I have planned  my outfit for the day already. Hopefully I'll  get to post the details on how I spend my Valentines day so that I can share the glimpse of my outfit.  I have made an inspiration ensemble for the Valentine's day. Hopefully you'll be inspired as much as I have been. If you need any help for your Valentine' days outfit shopping anywhere around South Africa, please e-mail me on cliqcliqmovement@mweb.co.za . I'd  gladly help.
